Water & Wastewater — Engineering

Potable Water & Wastewater Treatment Facility - Design & BuildWhen planning for a new water or wastewater treatment facility or just expanding/ refurbishing an existing facility, ESI offers a design experience that few others in the industry are capable of. By combining in-house engineers, operators and construction staff, construction can often be designed and built without expensive change orders and / or delays. Our design process utilizes our "team effort" strategy which proves to be cost effective.

Small to medium sized facilities are our specialty. Our overhead costs are kept to a minimum to allow competitive estimating and pricing.Construction Engineering Management & Inspection Services (CEI)Our inspection and troubleshooting services are second to none.

Employing our construction engineering managers and inspectors, system owners and managers have finally found a company that relieves stressful encounters with contractors, system owners and engineers. As a "go-between" ESI strategies are simple: knowledge, hard work and communication. Keeping all parties informed and up to speed, asking questions, and applying good practices help to break down barriers and encourages true team efforts. Completing a project on time, within budget, (and with all interested parties actually enjoying their working relationship), ESI has developed the reputation of excellence. Our reputation did not come easily; it continues to take hard work, dedication and a solid background in simply knowing how to get things done. Going the extra mile means bringing back service in an industry where service has suffered.

The main goal of ESI is to make the preconstruction and construction processes move smoothly. This process, while intellectually simple, requires diligence and effort as well as specific but simple planning.

Our focus is to not only give the owners what they expect and need, but to keep all aspects of the job running as smoothly as possible. Productive team efforts make every aspect less costly for all concerned.Tank InspectionsFollowing several water storage tank explosions due to over-pressurization or tank defects in the US water industry, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection created new legislation that now requires inspections on steel potable water holding tanks. New standards for new steel tank construction were also instituted. ESI inspects tanks throughout Florida for owners and engineers alike.Plan ReviewA new service ESI offers to clients, owners, builders, and other engineering firms is plan review. Plan review encompasses many aspects such as constructability and design, and looks at each plan from the standpoint of operations, maintenance, future use or new regulations.

Regulatory RequirementsAs the number of DEP regulations increase, one recent addition affecting many wastewater facilities in Florida is the treatment and removal of Total Nitrogen severely limiting effluent levels. Often to meet these new standards requires new treatment processes such as carbon loading, anoxic basins, etc. While these requirements are environmentally understandable, meeting these requirements can be costly from a construction aspect as well as increases in operational costs. Finding, creating and using different methods to meet DEP required standards have been our focus for many years. Please call for more information or to set up a meeting.
